For those wondering about the big issues in Washington today, rest assured that it’s been confirmed that Obama does, indeed, own an Apple iPad. Less than a year ago, Obama raised quite a stink when he called the iPad, and other modern-day entertainment items, nothing but a way to be distracted.
Univision Interview
During a recent interview with Univision anchor Jorge Ramos, Obama, however, did fess up to owning one of these pesky gadgets himself. While being interviewed in a town hall meeting with the Spanish-language network, Obama admitted that he’s a proud iPad owner. He even explained that he tethers it to his BlackBerry cell phone.
Computer President
When asked, as well, about whether or not he has his own computer, Obama joked, “I mean, Jorge, I’m the President of the United States. You think I’ve got to go borrow somebody’s computer? (Laughter.) Hey, man, can I borrow your computer? (Laughter.) How about you? You’ve got one?”
Changing Tunes
Obama’s current admission seems to change his tune from his views last May. During a commencement speech at Hampton University, he said that he didn’t know how to work many technology devices like the iPod, iPad or Xbox and that these devices often turned information into a “distraction, a diversion.”
