Trump’s Height and Weight Come Under Scrutiny

President-elect Donald Trump claims that he is 6-feet and 3-inches tall. His driver’s license states that he is one inch shorter.

Usually one’s driver’s license is accurate, but this past summer Trump’s gastroenterologist stated that his longtime patient was 6-foot-3 while being interviewed on the Dr. Oz show. News and media outlets did not skip a beat to point out the inconsistency.

Slate said that Trump wanted to claim the extra inch to keep him out of obesity territory. Since he weighed 236 pounds at the time, his BMI would look better if he were one inch taller. Time now lists Trump as 6-foot-3 stating that “it irritates him that so many media outlets say 6-foot-2.”

The driver’s license was issued by New York State on May 3, 2012, and will expire on June 14, 2020, when he turns 74 years old. The license is a Class D permit, the most common class of license issued in the state. It comes with no other additional safety restrictions.
